Most commercial Anxi Tie Guan Yin Tea is grown around 500 meters, but this high attitude tea is grown far from the city and its population at 1300 meters high on shrouded, mist-covered mountains. The result is a tea rich in amino acids with a complex fragrance and slight hint of citrus. The tea master is very careful to keep the leaves whole to create a smooth flavor that never turns bitter. Please note that tea price equates quality and quality equates with benefit. Fresh and fragrant Tie Guan Yin tea has natural orchid-like aroma. This aroma can be enjoyed when the tea leaves are slowly opening up in hot water, when you savor the tea liquor, or when you feel the aftertaste. When brewing Tie Guan Yin tea, you constantly immense yourself in this natural orchid-like aroma through your sense, taste and feel, as if orchid flowers "dance" around you. There is a Chinese old saying: "Bitter cold adds strong fragrance to plum blossom", which is similar to "No Pain, No Gain". We name this Tie Guan Yin "Grand Royal" because its high-quality comes from our tea master's persistent devotion to quality: 16 hours of tea making with at least 10 times of roll/fire/dry process. If you choose the Traditional Fragrance Dark roast Tie Guan Yin has long been favored by old time Tie Guan Yin tea drinkers. Compared to light roasted Tie Guan Yin, it has stronger taste and sweeter aftertaste.
Our Dark Roasted Traditional Fragrance Tie Guan Yin is unique in that it goes through a traditional charcoal roasting process instead of electronic roasting process. It is similar to Nutty Fragrance but has a long-lasting aftertaste.
